The Highfield Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia (RQF) has been developed and is awarded by Highfield Qualifications and sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is a qualification framework regulated by Ofqual and CCEA Regulation
The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace, such as adult social care workers. The content of the qualification covers core content that applies to the adult social care sector.
This qualification forms the competence requirements for those learners working in adult care
settings at level 2.

Learner/role profile
Learners will have responsibility for providing person-centred, values-driven care and support for those accessing a service. The learner will work under the direction of a manager or supervisor but will have a degree of autonomy. As well as demonstrating best practice, they will be working towards promoting and modelling it. Learners may or may not have supervisory responsibilities for others.

Understand the factors that can influence
communication and interaction with individuals who have dementia
Understand equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care
This qualification is approved for delivery to learners aged 16 and above.
It is advised that learners have a minimum of level 1 in literacy and/or numeracy or an equivalent.
This qualification is assessed by portfolio of evidence
