Full Childminder Training Package

Your package includes:

1. Preparation to Work as a Childminder & EYFS Practice
Develop your understanding of the childminder's role, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), child development, learning through play, observation and assessment, working with parents, record keeping and professional responsibilities.

2. Safeguarding for Childminders & DSL Responsibilities
Develop the safeguarding knowledge required in childminding practice, including recognising and responding to concerns, recording and reporting, safer working practices and your responsibilities as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). The course is designed around the safeguarding training criteria within the EYFS.

3. Paediatric First Aid
Complete a full 12-hour Paediatric First Aid programme, normally delivered through:

6 hours online learning + 6 hours face-to-face practical training.

The practical element allows learners to demonstrate essential first aid skills for responding to emergencies involving babies and young children.

4. Food Hygiene
Develop essential knowledge of food safety and hygiene when preparing, handling, storing and serving food to children in a childminding or early years environment.

The Paediatric First Aid course includes a compulsory face-to-face practical element.

The package has been designed to support preparation for childminding practice and relevant EYFS requirements. Completion of the training package does not itself guarantee Ofsted registration, as applicants must satisfy all applicable registration requirements.

Learners must successfully complete the required elements of each course before the relevant certificate can be issued.

The Paediatric First Aid element includes both online learning and compulsory practical training. Learners must complete both elements.
